Bio-fuel production requires continual adjustments for optimal fermentation efficiency, which usually leads to variable nutrient levels in co-products like distillers grains.  The variable nutrient levels can adversely impact animal performance and buyer confidence, unless a proven process can be used to better communicate the nutrient levels and ingredient value.  This process – the REVEAL system – helps gain optimal efficiency and lower costs of both producers and buyers of co-products by measuring nutrients in real-time.

The REVEAL system delivers software calibrated to measure nutrients using NIR (near-infrared reflectance) instruments, along with Internet access to the Cargill global system.  This connection results in accurate, real-time measure of many nutrients including a few such as Protein, Fat, Fiber, NDF, ADF, Ash and Sulfur, along with moisture.  The REVEAL system enables various NIR instruments, although the Feed Forage Analyzer 5000 or InfraXact Lab NIR Analyzer, are preferred from FOSS NIRSystems, Inc.  Besides the REVEAL system, other Cargill processes available to support nutritionists include the OVSdb^ä system and AutoCalc^® system that better clarify the nutrient supply.
